At the Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group we understand that bringing the community together is an excellent way to raise awareness, consciousness and necessary funds to keep important services available to our friends, families and community members suffering from cancer. We also understand that we can enjoy one another’s company while we do it. Hospice of Santa Cruz County, Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services, Katz Cancer Resource Center, UCSC Cancer Research, WomenCARE and Teen Kitchen Project.
Skye Tent Skin Cancer Screenings

Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group in partnership with Dr. James Beckett and his team of Santa Cruz County based volunteer dermatologists are providing free skin screenings and treatment information at outdoor events throughout the county. The 10'x20' pavilion within which the doctors perform the screenings was christened the Skye Tent to honor the memory of local surfer and UCSC student Skye Ksander whose courageous battle with metastatic melanoma provided inspiration to many.
